Wargaming Helping Veterans with New Challenge Coins

Postby HoChiWinh » Wed Jan 20, 2016 3:22 pm

Everyone’s favorite naval game World of Warships has just announced that they have a limited edition run of “Challenge Coins” produced by Gray Water Ops, a veteran owned business dedicated to producing quality coins for the military.

Many of you will have thrown money at Wargaming in the past for some shiny premium ships, but this time when you open your wallet, not only will you be supporting veterans, you’ll also be getting a cool World of Warships themed challenge coin to call your own. Wargaming announced there there is only a short run of 1000 coins up for grabs, so if you’re interested then you should click the image below to head over to the main site and order yours while you still have the chance.

It wouldn’t be a Wargaming offer without a bunch of other stuff being tacked on as a bundle, and the challenge coins are no different. Along with the coin, proud owners can expect to receive a new port slot, a week of premium time and a total of 50 assorted flags to raise on their ships. As an added extra, Gray Water will be choosing 10 lucky customers to get a rare Tirpitz coin instead, which comes complete with an in-game code to unlock the mighty Tirpitz to sail into battle.

Challenge Coin

There’s a reason that Wargaming has chosen these challenge coins as their latest offer to paying customers; these are traditional collectible items steeped in history and honor. They were traditionally handed out whenever a member of a unit deserved a special honor for an achievement, or to show that they are a member of the organisation. These coins were then used to challenge others to prove their membership to a group, and anyone failing to produce their coins had to buy a drink for the challenger. Wargaming now thinks that the World of Warships player base is large enough to warrant these coins, and to become a member of a special club. If nothing else, it seems like a good way to get a drink.

For those that don’t want to shell out some hard-earned cash to show off their boating prowess, head over to our Ranked Leaderboard and see how you stack up against other ranked players from your region for some in-game bragging rights.
